At Empower Health NQ we offer a wide range of inclusive exercise programs to accommodate for the Townsville community. We are sure to have something for you. Below is our class time table and description for each class. If you have any questions about which class will suit you best, please contact us or book in for your class.

Class Descriptions

Empower Hour

In Empower Hour you will complete a specialized program designed to help you work towards your personal goals. Whether you’re managing injuries, focusing on weight management, or enhancing your strength and conditioning, our supervised sessions provide the perfect environment for your success.

Empower Hour is also ideal for:

  • Wanting a tailored exercise program whilst under supervision.

  • Seeking guidance on technique and proper use of all equipment and machines.

  • Rehabilitation of injuries and conditions whilst under supervision.

Core Fitness

Our Core Fitness class offers a blend of exercises focused on building a strong core foundation. This class includes mat work and elements from Pilates. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.

Core Fitness class is suitable for anyone looking for:

  • Improved core strength

  • Improved mobility and flexibility

  • Management of back pain

  • Management of neck pain

  • Low intensity exercise

If you love Pilates or would like to improve your core strength be sure to book in! Our Core Fitness Class fills quickly.

Hydrotherapy Classes

Who in North Queensland doesn’t love the pool? Our hydrotherapy group class is perfect for those looking to exercise outdoors. We offer two different hydrotherapy classes on a Tuesday and Thursday. Our earlier class at 9:30am incorporates higher intensity activity and is better suited for those with a higher level of fitness. We also offer this class now on a Wednesday at 9:30am. The 10:30am class is a much lower intensity class and is facilitated on a Tuesday and Thursday.

Hydrotherapy has many benefits which include:

  • Great for those with arthritis or experience joint pain when exercising

  • Ideal for injury management and post-surgery recovery

  • Weight loss

  • Flexibility and mobility

  • Fun way to stay active

Our hydrotherapy services are facilitated at Kokoda Memorial Pool - 41 Wellington St, Mundingburra.

We use Kokoda Memorial Pool for a number of reasons:

  • The pool is heated all year round. This means our Hydrotherapy services can run into the winter without freezing!

  • There is a large sloping ramp to assist people when getting in and out of the pool.

  • There is also pool friendly wheel chairs which are available to use.

  • The toilets are easy to access and use. This includes the disabled access toilet.

  • Parking is great

Keep your feet

Our Keep Your Feet classes are supervised exercise classes that are influenced by the latest evidence to improve your balance and reduce your risk of a fall. Our Keep Your Feet classes are tailored to suit all fitness levels, with modifications available to ensure everyone can participate - all while having fun!

Keep Your Feet class is ideal for anyone wanting to:

  • Improve your balance

  • Reduce your risk of a fall and falls prevention

  • Build functional strength to help with day to day activities

  • Engaging challenges to improve reflexes and mobility

  • Boost overall health and fitness

  • Social engagement

  • You can attend these group classes through your home care packages

Junior Athlete class

Our Junior Athlete Class is perfect for our next generation of athlete’s wanting to take their performance to the next level. The Junior Athlete Class is also the perfect environment for the younger athletes to learn how to lift safely and be taught correct technique as the classes are facilitated by our Exercise Physiologists who have additional qualifications with Australian Strength and Conditioning Association.

Our Junior Athlete classes also include:

  • Improving strength and conditioning specific to your sport

  • Improved fitness, agility and speed

  • Reduce the risk of sports related injuries

  • Education about to how to improve your sports performance - this includes being educated on the importance of warm ups, cool downs, stretching and much more

independent times

Our independent gym session is ideal for those who prefer the flexibility of training at different times throughout the day. During these sessions, you can either follow a personalized program or take on our weekly Empower Hour Challenge. This option is suitable for individuals who can safely exercise independently.
